The aluminium case is significantly heavier than the printed one. That is deliberate: the pendant sits more solidly on the bench, feels rigid rather than hollow, and stands up better to daily handling in a shop.

Fitting it

About twenty minutes, carefully

Power the pendant off and work on a clean, static-free surface. Take off the back cover, remove the four display screws and push the display gently out through a mounting hole with a non-marring tool, then remove the PCB and encoder screws and lift the PCB out. Fit the encoder into the new case, refit the PCB, then the display, then the back cover — and check the touchscreen, encoder and power button before you call it done.

Questions

Is this a whole pendant?

No. It is the case only. Everything electronic moves across from the pendant you already own — nothing in the product photos is included beyond the machined case itself.

Do I need to solder anything?

No. It is a screwdriver job: the boards unbolt from the old case and bolt into this one.

What should I be careful of?

The side power button. It is the fragile part, so never force it during disassembly or reassembly, and check it moves freely before closing the case up.

Will it feel different?

Yes — it is markedly heavier than the printed case, which is what gives it the solid feel.
